BENU Power Reserve SGD 1953

Signed by legendary SG Dynamo Dresden striker

To mark Moritz Grossmann’s tenth anniversary in November, the independent watchmaker from Glashütte presents its eleventh special model, the BENU Power Reserve SGD 1953. This special edition timepiece emphasises the regional roots of the manufactory. The name ‘SGD 1953’ is often used by fans and is short for SG Dynamo Dresden football club and its founding year.

Since 2017 the Moritz Grossmann manufactory has been involved in sports through a cooperation with SG Dynamo Dresden. Dynamo’s iconic striker of the 80s and today’s sporting director Ralf Minge has signed the unique new edition BENU Power Reserve SGD 1953, a version of the BENU Power Reserve ‘Black Yellow’. Minge’s signature is applied in the form of a gold thread in the glass back of the watch.

The special model BENU Power Reserve SGD 1953 is presented in white gold. The two-coloured power reserve indicator of this unique model is painted to SG Dynamo Dresden’s signature black and yellow. The watch is fully wound if the black part of the bar appears on the dial. As the spring runs out of tension, the bar becomes more and more ‘Dynamo’ yellow. The characteristic ‘D’ of the SG Dynamo Dresden logo decorates the centre of the black dial in discreet dark grey.

The Moritz Grossmann brand manufactures timepieces to the highest standard of craftsmanship under the motto ‘Schönstes deutsches Handwerk’ — ‘The most beautiful German craftsmanship’. The BENU Power Reserve SGD 1953 is offered with the calibre 100.2 in artistic hand finish as a single edition 1 of 1.
